Vinyl of the Day

Recorded in 1973–74 and issued in 1975 on Movieplay’s Gong series, Eduardo Bort’s debut marks its 50th anniversary (Guerssen) as a distinctive Spanish prog record, built on his extended guitar work, Mellotron-backed arrangements, and a band sound that gets quite spacey. It was likely an influential record for Spanish hippies in the ’70s, at a time when things were still tightly controlled. Essential from the Spanish underground and one of the strongest psych/prog releases, with a cover that perfectly matches the music, what you see is what you get.
