Discover Will Rainier’s Honest Americana in ‘Perfect Imperfections’

Seattle-based indie rock and Americana artist Will Rainier releases his evocative new single, ‘Perfect Imperfections,’ accompanied by a captivating music video.

Known for his rich storytelling and arrangements, Rainier blends heartfelt Americana with touches of indie rock, creating a rather expansive sound.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Kurt Vile, Wilco, and Built to Spill, Rainier’s music captures the essence of everyday characters and moments, painting vivid portraits of life’s quiet complexities. His latest track, ‘Perfect Imperfections,’ offers a reflective message about embracing one’s unique flaws. With beautiful pedal steel, gentle electric guitars, and plaintive trumpet lines, the song is filled with finding beauty in vulnerability and self-acceptance.

Recorded at Earth to Emma Studios in Olympia and co-produced with longtime collaborator Chad Yenney, Rainier’s sound is textured with layers of acoustic and electric instruments, creating a lush backdrop for his warm vocals. ‘Perfect Imperfections’ feels like a moment of quiet self-reflection, a reminder that our idiosyncrasies are what make us truly ourselves.

Fans of heartfelt Americana and richly woven indie rock will find much to appreciate in this single and its forthcoming full-length release.

When asked to share more details, Will replied, “This song is about trying to find the courage to block out the noise and stay true to yourself. The one thing nobody else can be is you, so fly your freak flag proudly. The pedal steel was played by Kevin Suggs who also contributed to my previous two albums. He always comes up with really cool and interesting parts. For this one he recorded two different ideas, but couldn’t decide which one sounded best. We decided to keep both parts layered together, and I think it creates a dreamy, almost orchestral vibe.”
