Pluralone shares ‘Ranting and Raving’ single and video ahead of ‘A Drop in the Ocean’

Pluralone, the solo project of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Josh Klinghoffer, has shared a new single, ‘Ranting and Raving,’ along with its video. The track is the latest preview of ‘A Drop in the Ocean,’ due June 12, 2026 via Org Music.

Klinghoffer, known for his work with Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane’s Addiction and other projects, keeps the song close and reflective. “It’s always good to examine your reactions,” he says. “At one time, I’m sure I could’ve been accused of ranting and raving from time to time. I might not do that as much anymore, but the impulse is still there. I hope to always keep an eye on why. This is a reminder.”

‘Ranting and Raving’ follows ‘Peer Into Your Dreams,’ which introduced the album with a more fragile, folk-leaning sound. The new track builds from soft electric and acoustic guitars into a wider arrangement, with synths adding lift around Klinghoffer’s direct vocal delivery. In a new Thoughts Words Action interview, Klinghoffer said the song is partly self-addressed, adding that he is “definitely the one ranting and raving.”

‘A Drop in the Ocean’ is Pluralone’s fourth album and first since 2022’s ‘This Is The Show.’ According to Org Music, the record was written with a return-to-basics approach, with many songs starting on acoustic guitar. Eric Palmquist produced and mixed the album, while Dave Kutch mastered it at The Mastering Palace.
