Guerrilla Teens Share ‘Sympathy for the Decibel’ Video and New EP
Portland garage-punk band Guerrilla Teens have released a new five-song EP, ‘Sympathy for the Decibel’, through Sonic Jett Records. The group, featuring Scott “Deluxe” Drake and Jeff Fieldhouse of The Humpers, have also shared a video for the title track.
Drake and Fieldhouse have been writing songs together since their days with The Humpers, whose records appeared on Sympathy for the Record Industry and Epitaph in the 1990s. They later played together in The Lovesores. Guerrilla Teens came together in Portland during the pandemic, when the two began working on new material.
The current lineup also includes guitarist Saul Koll, drummer Tim Connolly and bassist Anna Andersen. Their music still owes plenty to the raw garage rock and punk of the 1970s, although there is a stronger melodic side to it too, with two guitars and Andersen’s backing vocals adding to the arrangements.
‘Sympathy for the Decibel’ follows the band’s 2023 album ‘Under the Dagger’ and 2025’s ‘Monkey’s Paw’. The new EP contains five songs, including ‘Ghosts of New Orleans’ and ‘Spider Bouquet’.
