Iguana Death Cult Announce ‘Guns Out,’ Share New Single ‘Reckless Running’

‘Reckless Running’ lands today as the latest preview of Iguana Death Cult’s upcoming album ‘Guns Out,’ out April 10 via Greenway Records and The Reverberation Appreciation Society.

It’s a fast, no-frills track that leans hard into the band’s garage rock instincts. The guitars are sharp and immediate, the rhythm section doesn’t let up, and everything feels slightly on edge in a way that suits the song’s title. Lyrically, it’s built around slipping back into old patterns. “For the longest time I was a habitual escapist,” the band shares. “Running away from my problems, doing the same shit expecting different outcomes.” That tension sits underneath the energy, giving the track a bit more weight than a standard burner.

The single follows earlier cuts ‘I Like It, It’s Nice’ and ‘Guns Out,’ all pointing toward a record that trades some of the left turns of 2023’s ‘Echo Palace’ for something more direct. Less gloss, more punch. The band sounds locked in, pushing toward a tighter, more immediate version of themselves.

‘Reckless Running’ is out now. ‘Guns Out’ lands April 10 through Greenway Records and The Reverberation Appreciation Society. If this single is anything to go by, Iguana Death Cult aren’t reinventing themselves so much as tightening the screws on what they already do best, and letting it hit harder than before.
