Iguana Death Cult Announce New Album ‘Guns Out,’ Share New Song ‘I Like It, It’s Nice’

The Dutch post-punk outfit’s fourth LP features former Brian Jonestown Massacre drummer Uri Rennert and arrives in April.

Iguana Death Cult have detailed their fourth studio album. ‘Guns Out’ is due April 10 via Greenway Records and The Reverberation Appreciation Society. Today, the band has shared the album’s lead single, ‘I Like It, It’s Nice.’

The new LP marks a personnel shift for the Rotterdam group, integrating drummer Uri Rennert, an alumnus of the Brian Jonestown Massacre into the lineup alongside guitarist Tobias Opschoor and vocalist Jeroen Reek. Following a decade of touring with heavyweights like Osees and Jack White, the band characterizes the new material as a departure from the textured approaches of their previous work in favor of driving, bass-heavy garage rock.

The band described the lead single with a note of modern ambivalence, framing it as either a “critique of consumerism fed by malevolent tactics” and the dread of late-stage capitalism, or, alternatively, a “silly song about a British baking show.”
