Today Strasbourg-based trio Hermetic Delight shares the second single in 2023, ‘Inci,’ an indie-hymn with vocals sung in Turkish.

Hermetic Delight with its fizzy name that then melts in your mouth, oscillating between post-punk intensity and melodic loops, just like the band’s music, delightful, rather than hermetic.

In just over ten years of existence, the band Hermetic Delight has already lived several musical lives. Over the course of its releases (three EPs and a first album released in 2020) and its explorations, the French trio composed of Zeynep Kaya, Delphine Padilla, and Atef Aouadhi, has gradually enriched its post-punk sound signature with pop impulses and avant-garde music.

The band describes the song: “‘Inci’ has been through a lot. She had to leave her world to get by. She tries to exist here, but something inside her is left behind. But ‘Inci’ is strong and inspires her people. She shows the way.”

Sergei Parajanov and Tarsem Singh’s aesthetics served as the inspiration for this music video, which was created by video artist Arnaud Bigeard and visual artist Saba Niknam. The band’s surroundings, with its stark contrast to the surrounding normality, are even more stunning because they seem to originate from another planet. A poetic trip that enables you to experience what it’s like to be an outcast.
