Waverly Drive Share ‘crashed out’ Ahead of New EP ‘sunday afternoon’

Waverly Drive, the solo project of Chicago-born musician and producer Phil Galloni, have released a new single, ‘crashed out’, ahead of their fourth EP ‘sunday afternoon’, due November 20. A video for the song is also scheduled for October 30.

We featured ‘After The Show’ and ‘Push My Luck’ back in 2024. Since then, Galloni has released his debut full-length, ‘Decadence’, which came out in September 2025.

The new material was made quite differently. After spending years working on larger studio productions, Galloni decided to record the EP at home, using a much simpler setup. Much of the music came together during his spare time, and he deliberately kept some of the early takes rather than going back and changing everything.

“This EP was written during some downtime with a very minimal setup at home that made me lean into simplicity, emotion, and vibe,” he explains.

‘crashed out’ mixes rough-edged indie rock guitars with synthesizers and electronic drums. Galloni handles vocals, synths and drum machine, with Egan Rice on guitar and Matthew Noel on bass. The single was mixed by Davide Cinci and mastered by Daniel Eaton.

The forthcoming EP takes a quieter, more home-recorded approach than ‘Decadence’, with sparse arrangements and heavily treated vocals.

‘crashed out’ was released October 16, with ‘sunday afternoon’ following on November 20.
