Wendy Bevan has announced her new album ‘Alone With The Unknown’, out October 2, 2026, and shared its first single, ‘Innocence’, alongside a new video.

Produced by Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran, ‘Innocence’ gives the first glimpse of the album’s world: elegant, nocturnal and slightly dangerous. Bevan has always worked well in that space between song, image and performance, and here she leans into it fully, drawing from film noir, old European cinema and the tension between glamour and unease.

The song is about desire, vulnerability and the risk of losing yourself in another person. It moves with a slow, hypnotic pull, more like a scene unfolding than a conventional pop single. There is romance in it, but not the easy sort. It feels closer to a dream half-remembered, full of seduction, doubt and old shadows.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the beauty and risk that coexist with human connection,” Bevan says. “‘Innocence’ is about the longing to lose yourself in another person while still searching to understand who you are. It explores that dangerous space between vulnerability, desire, and surrender, between seduction and uncertainty.”

The accompanying video follows that same mood, taking visual cues from Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘Vertigo’ and the atmosphere of 1940s and 1950s Hollywood noir. Set against a mysterious Sicilian backdrop, it folds together Mediterranean glamour, femme fatale imagery and the feeling of a romance turning into something more uncertain.

‘Alone With The Unknown’ continues Bevan’s work in atmospheric, cinematic songwriting. After her 2021 ‘Astronomia’ collaboration with Nick Rhodes, the new album returns to more vocal-led material while keeping that sense of scale, mystery and visual drama.

Bevan is also set to appear at BST Hyde Park in London on July 5, on a bill headed by Duran Duran and featuring Scissor Sisters, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Groove Armada, Melanie C and more.
