Grandmas House Share New Single And Video ‘The Table’ From ‘Baby You’re A Winner’
Bristol band Grandmas House have shared ‘The Table’, the latest track from their forthcoming debut album ‘Baby You’re A Winner’, out August 21 via Brace Yourself Records.
A long-time live favourite, ‘The Table’ finally arrives in studio form after years of being shaped on the road. Built around forceful guitars, shifting rhythms and rich vocal harmonies, it shows a broader side of the band without losing the directness that has made them such a strong live prospect.
The band describe ‘The Table’ as a song about a relationship breaking down, but also about their experiences as women in the music industry. Having played it live for so long, the track has grown with them, picking up new weight from touring, frustration and the strange business of trying to hold your ground.
It follows recent singles ‘Baby You’re A Winner’ and ‘DOG’, both taken from the album. Produced and mixed by Ali Chant, ‘Baby You’re A Winner’ brings together rock, post-punk and more expansive arrangements, with songs that move through love, grief, loneliness and resilience.
The album was engineered by Niklas Lueger at The Playpen in Bristol and mastered by Felix Davis at Metropolis Studios in London. The current lineup features Yasmin Berndt on vocals and guitar, Poppy Dodgson on vocals and drums, Zoe Zinsmeister on bass and backing vocals, and Polly Jessett on guitar.
Grandmas House will also be busy on the road through the summer and autumn, with festival dates followed by a full European and UK run, including shows in London, Brighton, Bristol, Glasgow, Manchester and Nottingham.
