Harboured Stream New Album ‘We’re Only The Love That We Lead’
Denver metal trio Harboured return with their second album, ‘We’re Only The Love That We Lead’, out 29 May 2026 via Lost Future Records.
The album finds the band pushing their sound into heavier and more open territory. Michael Stancel handles guitars, synths and vocals, Brandon Michael plays bass, and Cierra White is on drums. Together, they move through tech death, blackgaze, ambient black metal and post-metal without letting the record feel scattered.
The album was recorded and mixed by Scott Evans at Anti-Sleep Studios in Oakland. It was produced by Evans, Harboured and Benjamin Kaplan, and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. The result is raw and forceful, but also full of mood and space.
Stancel says the record came from wanting to write something more personal, without making it too obvious or too exposed. Instead of writing direct songs about people and relationships, he used ideas around engineering, infrastructure and collapse as metaphors for personal failure, moral failure and emotional damage.
That gives ‘We’re Only The Love That We Lead’ a strong centre. It’s a heavy record, but not only in volume. Songs like ‘Dead Ringer’, ‘Halifax’ and ‘End Credits’ carry real weight, while the closing cover of The Faint’s ‘Agenda Suicide’ gives the album a sharp final turn.
Harboured formed in Denver in 2020 and now play as a three piece. Stancel and Michael are known for their work with Allegaeon, while White has played with Oak, Ash & Thorn. Their technical background is clear throughout the album, but this is not just a display of skill. It sounds like a band giving its music much more feeling and a clearer path.
‘We’re Only The Love That We Lead’ is available to stream and download on 29 May 2026 via Lost Future Records.
