beaming share ‘BUGBITE’ from forthcoming album ‘horseshoe’

Indie pop project beaming brings together Braden Lawrence, formerly of The Districts, and producer Derek Ted.

The duo continue to build momentum around their forthcoming LP ‘horseshoe,’ with recent singles ‘say goodbye’ and ‘Stuck (here)’, they are also set to join Field Medic on a spring tour.
The project took shape in Los Angeles through a working relationship that gradually shifted into something more defined. Lawrence initially spent time in Ted’s studio contributing drums to various sessions, before the two began collaborating more closely on production for other artists. That process eventually turned inward, leading to the formation of beaming as a dedicated outlet for their shared ideas.

Rather than following a fixed direction, the project leans into a more fluid and instinctive approach. That mindset carries through horseshoe, where tightly constructed pop arrangements sit alongside lyrics that reflect uncertainty, restlessness, and moments of clarity. There is a deliberate looseness to how the songs unfold, with attention to detail in the production offset by an unforced, conversational tone.

After a year on the road supporting Vundabar, Runnner, and Goon, the duo have arrived at a more defined sense of direction. The result is a project shaped by instinct rather than structure, with horseshoe reflecting a measured and self-assured approach to their sound. Listen to the latest single, “BUGBITE.”
