‘Suddenly Enlightened’ by En Kernaghan Band | New Album, ‘Energetik’
We are thrilled to premiere ‘Suddenly Enlightened,’ a standout cut from En Kernaghan Band’s upcoming fourth solo album, ‘Energetik,’ arriving January 30, 2026 via Holiday Maker Records.
Described as a “new-old-soundening,” Kernaghan’s latest work is a primitive mash-up of 1960s garage punk, deep country roots, and eastern mysticism. ‘Suddenly Enlightened’ perfectly encapsulates this aesthetic; home-recorded in Brisbane under a pile of “handmade half-broken equipment and haunted cassette machines,” the track offers a lo-fi energy that feels less like a polished studio production and more like a “page torn straight from the Buddhist third-class junk mail oracle”.
Recommended for fans of The Velvet Underground, The Cramps, and “freakbeat fanatics” alike, the album showcases Kernaghan’s talents as both an underground musician and an experimental instrument maker. ‘Energetik’ will be available physically on deluxe vinyl—featuring a calligraphic holographic obi-strip and a “Blue & White retina swirl” variant.
