Che Arthur Shares New Single ‘Sever’ & Bob Mould Tour

Chicago-based multi-hyphenate Che Arthur is back! Today he’s dropped ‘Sever,’ the lead single off his upcoming fifth solo album, ‘Describe This Present Moment,’ which is due out January 9, 2026 via Past/Future Records.

The new track is a driving blast of indie-punk that Arthur says deals with “pining for real connection in a society that grows ever more disconnected and unsafe.” Musically, it should definitely scratch an itch for anyone whose record collection runs from Sugar and Jawbreaker to The Smithereens.

‘Describe This Present Moment’ follows his earlier solo work, spanning ten tracks that reportedly pit those taut, concise punk and contemplative acoustic structures against some heavier moments. Fans of Pink Avalanche, the excellent, currently-on-hiatus band Arthur fronted from 2010–2020, should find plenty to dig into here. Arthur once again handled the whole shebang: songwriting, multi-instrumental performance, engineering, and production.

Arthur is also hitting the road this fall, heading to Europe for a killer run of shows opening for punk rock legend Bob Mould. Check out the full list of dates below.
