Cheap Trick’s Robin Taylor Zander Drops New Single ‘She Can’t Turn Back Now’

Robin Taylor Zander, the super-talented multi-instrumentalist who’s a full-time member of Cheap Trick, just announced some big solo news. His new, self-titled album is officially set to drop on October 17th through Confidential Records.

He also just shared a perfect new track called ‘She Can’t Turn Back Now.’ It’s got this great sunny but kinda sad vibe, and it comes with a cool video directed by Jon Gillies. This follows his previously released singles, ‘All She Wrote’ and ‘Nobody’s Home.’

If you’re wondering why this guy sounds so good, well, music is basically his destiny. His father is the founding frontman for the iconic rock band Cheap Trick, so it’s definitely in the DNA. But Robin brings his own sound to the table. He’s a versatile multi-instrumentalist who can jump on guitar, bass, drums, and backing vocals without missing a beat—he does all that for Cheap Trick, too!

His music is a fun mix of all the best eras: a little bit of that ’60s British Invasion sound, some ’70s punk energy, a dash of ’80s new wave, and some ’90s alternative attitude. It all blends together into a unique flavor of vintage pop-rock, filled with  immersive harmonies.

This new album is a deeply personal solo effort. He teamed up with rock legend Jack Douglas (who’s worked with Aerosmith and John Lennon) to co-produce, and Douglas mixed it with renowned engineer Jay Messina (Kiss, Peter Frampton). So, yeah, expect a raw, poetic sound that resonates.

‘She Can’t Turn Back Now’ is out now via Confidential Records, giving us a taste before the full album hits in October.
