Living Hour Announce New Single ‘Waiter,’ Video + Fall Tour Ahead of ‘Internal Drone Infinity’

Last month Winnipeg indie rock heavyweights Living Hour returned with the announcement of their fourth full-length album, ‘Internal Drone Infinity,’ set for release October 17 via Keeled Scales and Paper Bag Records.

Known for their lush fusion of dream-pop and shoegaze, the band continues to evolve, merging folk-inflected slowcore, fuzzy indie-pop, and hazy noise-rock into a sound that’s both expansive and emotionally piercing.

The five-piece—Sam Sarty (vocals, multi-instrumentalist), Gil Carroll (guitar), Adam Soloway (guitar, vocals), Brett Ticzon (bass, keys), and Isaac Tate (drums)—have built a striking sonic atmosphere on ‘Internal Drone Infinity’ full of icy, melodic vocals, grainy textures, twangy warmth, screeching distortion, and immersive percussion.

Today the band is sharing, ‘Waiter’ a cathartic and grungy alt-rock moment of release. Sarty’s vocals cut deep, evoking both twang and wisdom. On the song’s title she explains,
“This is a song about people who wait. Wait-ers. I find myself waiting without knowing what I’m waiting for. I wait in all these liminal spaces: hotels, parking lots, and even relationships.”

In the track’s chilling chorus, Sarty sings, “Tell me where you think I oughta be,” reflecting on the journey of finding and trusting herself.

“With the line “cut my hair and then it grows right back,” I’m thinking about how I look back on photos of past versions of myself, in different seasons of life and with different hair. I realize that I always survive these heartbreaks and transitions. It’s the same sentiment with “I came here alone, and I’m headed out the exact same way.” I will always be there for myself. This song feels like a tribute to all that energy that pours out of me when I’m yearning for someone to be closer to me, but it also acts as a realization that I’ll always have myself. It’s a relief, like feeling that the wait is over.”

With ‘Internal Drone Infinity,’ Living Hour offer an expansion of their dreamy sound. ‘Internal Drone Infinity’ follows on October 17th, available on all DSPs, vinyl, and CD via Keeled Scales, Paper Bag Records, and Beloved Records.
