Karma Glider Drift Into Dreamlike Longing on ‘Wait for You,’ From Upcoming Album From the ‘Haze of a Revved Up Youth’

Karma Glider’s latest single, ‘Wait for You,’ is a gorgeous, slow-burning love song that trades in shimmer and ache.

Out June 3rd via Mothland, the Montreal band’s newest cut feels like a transmission from a daydream…flooded in feedback, reverse-looped melodies, and the kind of reverb that could fill a canyon. At its core is a deceptively simple idea: love doesn’t follow logic. The track marks the second preview from their upcoming debut album ‘From the Haze of a Revved Up Youth,’ out July 11th.

“Romance triumphing over logic,” is how singer-guitarist Susil Sharma puts it. That sentiment filters through every blown-out guitar swell and hazy double-drum groove—equal parts shoegaze shimmer and Wall of Sound bombast. The video is more intimate, a montage of travel footage from Sharma’s time in Peru, Croatia, and Nepal, cut with cozy scenes of his cat Liam (and his sister’s cat Natsu). “I’ve crossed oceans just to get home and play with those fuzzy ears,” he says.

‘From the Haze of a Revved Up Youth’ is a genre-dodging fever dream—equal parts melancholy and muscle. Think dubby detours, tape-warped segues, and enough fuzzed-out hooks to glue it all together.

Sharma, formerly of Heat, guides the record with a deadpan croon and a gift for writing melodies that feel like memories. Lyrically, it’s a confessional spiral through substance abuse, heartache, and rebirth. It’s flirting with danger, but always pulling back before the fall. It’s a letter to being young, lost, and alive.
