Anton Barbeau Unveils ‘Night Crawler’ from ‘Glitch Wizard’ with ‘Dig The Light’ Also on the Horizon
Today we’re thrilled to premiere ‘Night Crawler,’ a mesmerizing new track from psych-pop sorcerer Anton Barbeau, taken from his upcoming album ‘Glitch Wizard.’
And that’s not all. ‘Glitch Wizard’ arrives alongside ‘Dig The Light,’ with both albums landing on July 11, 2025, via the ever-adventurous Think Like A Key Music.
‘Night Crawler’ is pure Barbeau. It’s a hazy, shimmering dive into his signature mix of psych-pop and kraut-folk, built on exciting synths, spiraling guitar lines, and hypnotic rhythms. But there’s something deeper at work here. ‘Glitch Wizard’ is the sound of a soul reckoning with grief, memory, and the strange flickers of meaning that live between waking and dreaming.
As Barbeau told us in a recent conversation, the album came together in the “Dark Mystery Temple,” his basement studio that functions both as creative engine and emotional safe zone. You can hear it all in ‘Night Crawler’: the comfort of repetition, the rawness of loss, the beauty in staying open.
Helping bring it to life is a stellar cast including Dave Gregory of XTC, Andy Metcalfe of the Soft Boys and Robyn Hitchcock, and Donald Ross Skinner, longtime collaborator of Julian Cope. It’s a lineup made for anyone who likes their pop a little sideways, laced with melancholy and strangeness, and full of soul.
There’s vulnerability here. There’s noise. There’s heart. ‘Glitch Wizard’ doesn’t aim for perfection. It welcomes you into something honest and beautifully unsettled. ‘Night Crawler’ is your entry point into that world.

Pre-order ‘Glitch Wizard’ and its companion ‘Dig The Light’ now and get ready for the double release on July 11. Psych wizards like Anton Barbeau don’t come around often. Best to tune in while the spell is still strong.
