‘No Surfing’ by Well Well Well | New Album, ‘Summertime Heat’
Exclusive premiere of ‘No Surfing’ by Well Well Well, from their upcoming album ‘Summertime Heat,’ set to release on September 6, 2024, via Royal Oakie Records.
San Diego’s smooth-rock legends, Well Well Well, have unleashed their single from their upcoming album. With songwriters Seton Edgerton and Daniel Nichols leading the charge, this album channels the vibes of Steely Dan, Michael McDonald, and Prince into something uniquely their own.
Over four years of tireless writing and recording—between national tours and studio sessions in backyard setups, vacation homes, and their own digs near San Diego Airport—Well Well Well has crafted their most dynamic sound yet. Horns, synthesizers, and pedal steel elevate this effort, with Pat Jones and David Glasebrook handling the mixing and mastering.
The title track, ‘Summertime Heat,’ pays tribute to Edgerton’s sun-scorched youth in Los Angeles, while ‘No Surfing’ humorously reflects on early COVID restrictions. ‘Mar-A-Lago’ delivers a satirical jab at the 45th president with its cheeky lyrics.
Since collaborating with The Mattson 2 on their 2022 release Palm Springs, Well Well Well has expanded their lineup, toured the US with Donny Benet, and rocked sold-out venues from The Regent in LA to Bimbo’s 365 Club in San Francisco. Now, with ‘Summertime Heat,’ they’re set to deliver their signature blend of smooth grooves and sharp wit.
Royal Oakie Records drops this gem on September 6, 2024, with a UK/EU release slated for November 15, 2024. Get ready for a California summer soundtrack like no other!
