Donald Beaman’s latest offering, ‘Fog On Mirror Glass,’ marks a departure from his previous work, ushering in a new sonic landscape. Departing from full-band arrangements, Beaman opted for a more intimate approach, recording the bulk of the album in his own living room. With longtime collaborator Kirt Lind behind the production helm, the album captures the raw essence of Beaman’s songwriting process, untouched and unfiltered.
The album’s sound is deeply rooted in its surroundings, with the natural reverb of Beaman’s living room becoming its defining sonic signature. Sparse instrumentation, including guitars, keyboards, accordion, and backing vocals, delicately adorn Beaman’s heartfelt lyrics, showcasing his songwriting prowess in its purest form.
