Paul Archer Unveils ‘Fear Destroyer’ Ahead of Transformative New Album ‘Art’
Paul Archer is setting the stage for ‘Fear Destroyer,’ the latest single from his much-anticipated new album, ‘Art,’ due out August 8th, 2025, on the always-surprising Think Like A Key Music.
The song feels born from that universal moment when everything tightens, when fear seems to close in around you, unforgiving. But rather than giving in, ‘Fear Destroyer’ flips the script. It captures that instant light breaks through, flooding in unexpectedly, and the walls that once trapped you begin to crumble. It’s a song about liberation, about finding strength even when it feels like there’s none left.
The lyrics really speak to that breakthrough:
“All at once,
Light comes streaming,
Pouring down.”
That’s the feeling, you know? It bursts out of nowhere, sudden and full, like a rush of light transforming a dark room. The fear doesn’t just slip away quietly or tiptoe out the back door. No, it gets shouted down, like a voice rising from deep inside. The chorus becomes more than just words; it’s a quiet roar about the soul breaking free, about healing that comes wrapped in love.
“Shout it louder,
Fear destroyer,
Soul releaser,
Loving healer.”
‘Fear Destroyer’ hits like a heartbeat caught in a storm, something steady beneath feet that won’t quite stand still. It’s the kind of song that truly grabs you when everything else feels like it’s coming undone. There’s a softness there, sure, but don’t get it twisted, this song has some more to it. It’s a standout on ‘Art,’ Archer’s first solo record after years leading bands like Disreali Gears, Ghears, and Burning Codes. It’s maybe a shout-out to anyone stuck in fear to help you break free and move forward.
‘Art’ itself is a journey split in two. Side A serves up alt-rock tracks recorded in Leeds, while Side B slows things down, folding in the cosmic soul Archer was born to in Belfast. It’s a kind of homecoming, full of old friends dropping in. You’ll hear Duke Special dancing on the keys, Horslips legend Jim Lockhart blowing flute like it’s magic, and Jonny Quinn from Snow Patrol adding his beat.

Oh, and you’re going to love the album cover. These are Archer’s own abstract paintings, finally getting to hang out with his music after all these years. Let’s just say it’s two parts of Archer’s life finally coming together.
