‘Hidden By The Day’ by Vitskär Süden | New Album, ‘Vessel’

Exclusive track premiere ‘Hidden By The Day’ by Vitskär Süden, taken from the upcoming album, ‘Vessel,’ out May 17th on Ripple Music.

Vitskär Süden, a group combining progressive rock with dark folk from Los Angeles, intertwines vivid narratives with intricate soundscapes, blending neo-psych, space, doom, and progressive rock influences. After signing with Ripple Music, they released ‘The Faceless King,’ a concept album delving into the origin story of its titular antihero, complemented by a unique RPG module expanding the narrative.

In their latest endeavor, ‘Vessel,’ Vitskär Süden ventures into uncharted musical territory, incorporating progressive elements while guiding listeners through seven distinct sonic landscapes. This album serves as a contemplation of human fragility, presenting a collection of weird fiction narratives ranging from post-apocalyptic forests to Lovecraftian cities submerged underwater. The band members, Martin Garner, Julian Goldberger, TJ Webber, and Christopher Martin, expand their sonic palette by integrating strings, synth, and electronic elements, further solidifying their position as a force in the underground rock scene.

Exploring a variety of themes, each track on ‘Vessel’ organically evolves, with distinct settings and narratives emerging from the band’s improvisational jam sessions. Collaborating once again with co-producer/mixer Don Cento, the album features guest appearances from talented musicians such as cellist Max Mueller, violinist Emily Moore, and pianist Rich Martin, enhancing the atmospheric depth of their compositions. As they continue to push the boundaries of their genre, Vitskär Süden remains steadfast in their commitment to storytelling and sonic experimentation.
