‘Grenoble’ by H.L.M. | New EP, ‘Grenoble’
Exclusive video premiere of ‘Grenoble’ by H.L.M., taken from the latest EP, ‘Grenoble,’ out via MILK ME.
Haute Lévitation Mutée, a project founded by Andrew Claristidge and Guillaume Laidain only a few years ago but should have been alive for 25 years. They met in the early 90s and have always had a good relationship, until Andrew left Genoble in 2004 and their paths parted. As a result, they lost sight of each other but got back in touch a few years ago in Bordeaux, where Andrew was supposed to play, and where Guillaume now lives. As they felt that nothing had changed over time, they started recording music together and thinking about a future project.

Haute Lévitation Mutée was born and now they are releasing their brilliant new EP ‘Grenoble’.
An apartment building, floors, songs. In the stairwell, a meeting: sound artist, radio interference manipulator and musician-producer-arranger. The bass escapes from the cellar and vibrates along the corridors. A door opens, oscillations swirl, clash, and blur the tracks. A voice rises. Concrete architecture. Bodies armed for expression. In the distance, the echo of a rave party … The 4 minute rebellious track is about an illegal rave while the city of Grenoble sleeps. This combined with deep electronic sounds, a mysterious French voice and mastered by the inspirational Jonny Zoum.
The release comes with three hypnotic remixes. No one else but the other legend from Grenoble, The Hacker aka Michel Amato delivers his remix. The producer who focuses mainly on electroclash, electro and techno provides more depth and a more dramatic take on the track that will take you to another dimension. Amato’s work is consistently high quality and he proves this here once again. Arnaud Rebotini, one of the most emblematic figures in electronic music today, adept at crossing genres, provides a groovy beat with the sounds of analog synthesizers. The musician, songwriter and producer is back with a banger that certainly won’t leave you standing still either. And last but not least, Pablo Bozzi’s remix. The Frenchman based in Berlin and resident at the world’s most famous bathroom HÖR gives his own unique twist here with an accelerated beat and disco vibe that will make the dance floor vibrate.
This EP was released on the label MILK ME, founded by Joshua Murphy and Catherine Elsässer who also perform hybrid live sets together under this name. They are responsible for the curation and booking of Berlin’s Urban Spree, alongside one off festival curation and artist booking.
The experimental video is created by artist Gaëlle Rouard, longtime member of Le 102, rue d’Alembert, who has been making handmade films since the early 90s’. An obscure video with dark visuals that exudes a hair-raising vibe with its shattered images from the city and people that are raving.
