‘Corners Pressed’ (Slow Magic Remix) by Letting Up Despite Great Faults | New EP, ‘IV Remixes’

Exclusive track premiere of ‘Corners Pressed’ (Slow Magic Remix) by Letting Up Despite Great Faults, taken from ‘IV Remixes’ EP, out June 3.

We feel so honored to have our favorite electronic instrumentalist Slow Magic remix “Corners Pressed” for us. Somehow keeping the ethos of the song, he takes it to another world that sounds like it’s from the 80s but also the early 2000s, even though we know full well it’s from the far far future.

These are truly some of our favorite artists and we are so grateful they each gave us their time, talent, and thoughtfulness. Each remix is so special and reminds us there’s never just one path to the end. Slow Magic is an instrumental electronic mastermind. Beverly Kills are rising post-punk stars from Sweden. EEP are the new shoegaze darlings from El Paso, TX. The Meeting Places are L.A. dreamy indie pop veterans. Millionyoung is a Florida chillwave specialist who hits heavy on any dance floor.” -Letting Up Despite Great Faults

Letting Up Despite Great Faults was founded by Mike Lee in Los Angeles, CA. He wrote an EP in 2006 described by NPR as “beautiful, lolling music”. But it wasn’t until a few years later where he would give us noisier and lusher soundscapes on a debut LP buzzed about all around the blogosphere. Pitchfork found the first single on MySpace, while Mike found his first bandmate Kent Zambrana (bass) on Craigslist. Wild times. As they were crafting a more well defined sound, they decided to move to Austin, TX, where they found Daniel Schmidt (drums) and Annah Fisette (guitar, keys, vocals).

With a new full length filled with deeper stories and dreamier soundscapes, they hope to show fans, old and new, their little corner of the world.
