Vinyl of the Day

Berlin trio ZAHN return with Purpur, a dense and restless record that pushes their sound into darker, more volatile territory, where grinding riffs collide with synthetic textures and a constant undercurrent of unease. Recorded in Gyhum with Peter Voigtmann and sharpened by contributions from Fabian Bremer and Kjetil Nernes, it finds the band stretching further into both electronics and raw physicality, the whole thing locked together by Magnus Lindberg’s deep, precise mix.
