Michele Ducci Releases New Album ‘Snail in the Clouds’
Michele Ducci has released his second studio album, ‘Snail in the Clouds’, today via Monotreme Records.
The album was recorded and produced by Simon Milner, known for his work with Is Tropical and Ysing, at 4 am Studios in London. Snail in the Clouds is a multi-layered pop album built around Ducci’s songwriting and vocal performances.
Alongside the album, Ducci and his partner Letizia Mandolesi have created a full-length animated film set in the same fictional world. The album and film tell the story of a planet called Snail, inhabited by hybrid beings that are part scorpion, part snail and part human. These hybrids live according to the style of Pythagoras and are devoted to music.
The story also features Agostos, a cloud man and writer of musical operettas, and Doctor Subtilis, a talking smoke machine. Together, they target the hybrid musician Diodoros and his band in an attempt to steal the ark of melodies, an ancient ship that allows the planet to survive through music and joy.
The album is available to stream from June 5 here!
A limited-edition 200-copy 180g vinyl LP will be released on June 26, together with the full-length animated film.
