French pianist and composer Jérémie Ternoy has released his new album ‘Ça commence par la marche’ via Circum-Disc.

The album is built around one clear idea: a 13-note motif played on two pianos. From that starting point, the music slowly grows into a larger piece, with two drum sets, two basses, three voices and three wind players joining the pianos and reshaping the original pattern.

Ternoy has developed his work through composition, improvisation and group projects, including Organik Orkeztra, TOC and his trio. He has also collaborated with Magma. On ‘Ça commence par la marche’, those parts of his musical life come together in a focused and patient way.

The album takes walking as its main idea. It moves through repetition, small changes and steady motion, turning a simple piano figure into a full ensemble piece. The result is calm but not static, with the music always shifting in detail.

‘Ça commence par la marche’ was recorded at Studio Gil Evans in Amiens and Studio Ronchin by Alexandre Noclain. It was mixed by Philippe Teissier du Cros and mastered by Romain Dupont. The album is available on CD, digital formats and streaming platforms.
