Get Lost in ‘The Trip’ with Poland’s More Experience
You probably haven’t heard of More Experience, and that is a shame because they are easily one of the best-kept secrets in the European underground.
Since the late 80s, Piotr Dudzikowski and his studio collective have been quietly perfecting a strange, beautiful fusion of Haight-Ashbury acid rock and that brainy, complex jazz from the Canterbury Scene. The track you need to hear is ‘The Trip.’ It is lysergic beast that leans hard into analog synthesis and captures that classic German cosmic sound perfectly. Their fourth LP, ‘Electric Laboratory of High Space Experience,’ awhile ago re-sequenced for a definitive vinyl release by Sound Effect Records, is a top notch example of their immersive sound.
Between the harmonium and the spoken word passages, it is a dense record. You really have to dive in headfirst to appreciate what they are doing.
