Black Magic Tree Return with ‘Terra,’ Their Most Expansive LP Yet

Berlin’s Black Magic Tree have resurfaced from the city’s ever-churning underground with ‘Terra,’ their long-awaited sophomore album and first release for Majestic Mountain Records, out November 28, 2025.

The record marks the band’s return after several years spent refining the heavy-blues-psych vibes that have become their signature.

Formed in 2018, the five-piece cut their teeth in Berlin’s rehearsal-room labyrinth, absorbing classic-rock touchstones…Zeppelin, Cream, Sabbath, The Doors, while tapping into the muscle of modern bands like Rival Sons, Graveyard, and Wolfmother. The result has always been a kind of sun-warped, fuzz-laced heavy blues that feels rooted in the ’70s but filtered through Berlin atmosphere.

Their early output hinted at that duality: the debut EP ‘Of Animals and Men’ (2019) introduced the band as self-made psych bruisers, and their 2021 full-length ‘Through the Grapevine’ stretched into warmer, more expansive territory.

‘Terra’ finds the group stepping into a more confident, widescreen version of themselves. Produced and mixed by Richard Behrens at Berlin’s Big Snuff Studio (known for his work with Kadavar and Elder) and mastered by Roland “Role” Wiegner at Tonmeisterei, the album folds together thick riffs, melodic uplift, and analog-warm production aesthetic. Martin Meir contributes the artwork, grounding the record in a visual world as lush as the band’s sound.

The band describes the album as the result of renewed ambition and a desire to stretch their sonic identity. “This new album marks a major step forward for us. We crafted it with passion and truly enjoyed pushing genre boundaries. On ‘Terra,’ our powerful riffs, haunting hooks, and magic melodies ignite with more force than ever before.”

With years of sweat-soaked club shows behind them, Black Magic Tree’s move to Majestic Mountain Records feels like a natural evolution. It’s an underground band hitting a stride that’s ready for a larger stage.
