Oruã Shares ‘Casual’ | New Album, ‘Slacker’
Get ready to get ‘Casual’ with Brazilian psychedelic rockers Oruã! The group just dropped the third single from their upcoming LP, ‘Slacker,’ which is due out on October 24th via K.
The scuzzy, ethereal new track was born on the road during the band’s 2023 US tour. According to frontman Lê Almeida, it’s a tune that reflects on the universal struggle of “eternal morning grumpiness.” The track also features production from Jim Roth (Built to Spill), who adds some “casual élan” on maracas.
Oruã is currently raising funds to help with their visa application process, which would allow them to tour the US in support of the new album. You can help by grabbing a fundraising copy of their 2024 album, ‘Passe,’ from the IFB Records website.
With a sound that blends 90s lo-fi, krautrock, afrobeat, and classic Brazilian psych, Oruã is a must-listen for anyone who likes their rock a little weird and a lot groovy. The band, which features former members of Built to Spill.
