The Alarm Founding Members Reunite for Two London Concerts Celebrating Mike Peters
Three founding members of The Alarm will perform together for the first time in more than 20 years at two special London concerts celebrating the band’s music and the life of Mike Peters.
Dave Sharp, Eddie Macdonald and Nigel Twist will appear at The Garage on 29 and 30 August 2026 under the banner ‘REUNION’. Robert Latimer, frontman of Coventry band Candid, will join them as guest vocalist.
The concerts will mark 45 years of The Alarm and pay tribute to Peters, who died in 2025. They will also be the first performances by Sharp, Macdonald and Twist together since the band’s VH1 appearance in 2003, when they last shared the stage with Peters.
“‘REUNION’ is an historic event that will honour the life, legacy and immense contribution that Mike Peters made to the music and spirit of The Alarm,” the musicians said in a joint statement.
Formed in North Wales, The Alarm became one of the most successful Welsh rock groups of the 1980s. Songs including ‘Sixty Eight Guns’ and ‘Rain in the Summertime’ brought the band an international audience, while their debut album, ‘Declaration’, reached number six on the UK Albums Chart.
Their reputation was also built through extensive touring. The Alarm appeared with U2 and Bob Dylan, supported Queen at Wembley Stadium during the 1986 Magic Tour and staged the internationally televised ‘Spirit of ’86’ concert at UCLA.
Latimer was invited to take on Peters’ vocal parts after establishing himself with Candid, a band known for emotionally direct, anthemic indie rock.
“With Rob on board, we are very excited to see how this new relationship develops as we explore the idea of taking ‘REUNION’ around the globe,” says Sharp.
The two London dates will also include guest musicians, live question-and-answer sessions and opportunities for fans to meet the band.
