The Lords Of Altamont Share New Single ‘Twisted Black’ From ‘Forever Loaded’
Garage-punk veterans The Lords Of Altamont have shared ‘Twisted Black’, taken from their latest album ‘Forever Loaded’, out now via Heavy Psych Sounds.
The record was released on April 10 and marks the band’s eighth studio album. Following earlier singles including ‘Rusty Guns’, ‘Twisted Black’ closes the album and gives a slightly wider look at what The Lords do best. It still has all the grit and rough-edged rock and roll you’d expect, but this time there’s a bit more space for the organ to creep in, and the band to really let the song stretch its legs.
Led by Jake Cavaliere, The Lords Of Altamont have been active for more than two decades, drawing on garage punk, American rock and roll, Detroit rock, Bowery punk and British R&B. The band’s name references the 1969 Altamont Free Concert.
The current lineup consists of Dani Sindaco on guitar and vocals, Rob Zimmermann on bass and vocals, Jake Cavaliere on organ and vocals, and Barry van Esbroek on drums and vocals. ‘Forever Loaded’ features ten tracks written by the band, with lyrics by Cavaliere.
As the closing track on the album, ‘Twisted Black’ brings the record to an end with a heavy, straightforward sound.
