Strange Lot Share New Single And Video ‘Go Have A Dream’ From Self-Titled Album

Austin-based Strange Lot have shared ‘Go Have A Dream’, the latest single from their forthcoming self-titled album, out August 14 via Greenway Records.

The track follows ‘Nobody Seems To Do The Math’ and arrives with a new video directed by Stellina Stampouli. It also lands after the band’s recent US tour supporting Melody’s Echo Chamber, as Strange Lot move into a busier new chapter around the album.

The record began during a difficult spell for singer and guitarist Dominic Mena, who nearly stepped away from Strange Lot in 2022 after finding himself without a band. Instead, he went back to working alone, writing and recording close to 30 demos in a month. Those songs became the basis of the new LP, with Mena looking for a sound that pushed beyond the usual psych revival markers.

Alex Maas of The Black Angels came in to produce after hearing the material, helping shape the record over the following year. Jim Eno of Spoon later mixed several key tracks, including ‘5AM’, ‘Timeline Drops’, ‘Hatin’ You’ and ‘Always Alone’, while Howie Weinberg mastered the finished album.

‘Go Have A Dream’ gives a good sense of that approach, with Strange Lot pulling fuzzed guitars, crunchy synths, driving rhythms and hazy atmosphere into something direct but still nicely off-centre. The current lineup, Dominic Mena, Cameron Martin, Levi Murray and Jason Desiderio, was then formed to bring the material properly to the stage.

Strange Lot’s self-titled album is out August 14 via Greenway Records.
