Lone Assembly untie the darkness on debut album ‘Knots 8 Chains’
Swiss band Lone Assembly announce their debut album ‘Knots & Chains,’ due for release on February 27, 2026 via Irascible Records.
With ‘Knots & Chains,’ Lone Assembly deliver a striking first statement, steeped in gothic atmosphere and new wave sensibility. These songs move through pain, alienation, and grief, yet pulse with a bit of hope. Control is the album’s central thread, both that imposed by others and that forged within, as well as the unseen forces of the places we inhabit.
Following their 2024 debut EP ‘That Never Happened,’ a tribute to a lost loved one, the band extend their vision with even greater reach. Tracks such as ‘You’re Pulling at the Same Strings,’ ‘The Pain Keeper,’ and ‘The City Works Like This’ explore inner confinement and external pressure, while ‘In the Open’ widens the frame, allowing a fragile sense of release. As vocalist Raphaël Bressler notes, the record unfolds like a cycle, moving from suffocation to the possibility of air.
Sonically, the album balances icy eighties textures with a luminous production. Shades of Factory Records era darkness meet the directness of contemporary.
