Lindsay Anderson Drops ‘Forgiving’

The calendar flipped to November 7, 2025, and with it came the arrival of Lindsay Anderson’s latest offering, ‘Forgiving.’

This is a 12-song conceptual dream dredged from the intoxicating, turbulent waters shared by surrealist titans Leonora Carrington and Max Ernst.

If you’ve ever felt like your inspiration was both your muse and your cage, Anderson understands. Drawing deep from Carrington’s haunting memoir, Down Below, Anderson wrestles with themes of love, power, and identity into the microphone. This record is an excavation of the artist-as-muse complex, that tightrope walk where creation brushes dangerously close to erasure, especially when the room is loud with male voices.

“While my creative and romantic relationships have formed me as an artist, they’ve also distanced me from my true voice,” Anderson states, cutting straight to the bone. “This project is about reclaiming that voice, and reshaping the narrative on my own terms.”

Anderson reimagines the familiar through a warped lens. Meet an Alice who is well past tea parties; she’s older, restless, and haunted by the need for more. This Wonderland has teeth, and lurking within its coercive shadows is the Wolf, a figure plucked straight from Carrington’s canvases, all seductive danger and ambiguous promise. Anderson navigates this liminal space where desire claws at the edges of self-liberation.

At its churning, beautiful heart, ‘Forgiving’ is the sound of an intense, impractical love affair between two creators grappling with intimacy, creation, and the inevitable rot of loss. It’s personal myth-making fused with dream logic. This is Anderson’s exorcism. A stunning, shadow-embracing journey asking listeners to stare unflinchingly into their own creative shadows to find what’s truly whole.
