‘Stranger Things’ by SOLAK | New Album, ‘Atlas’

Exclusive video premiere of ‘Stranger Things’ by SOLAK, taken from his upcoming album ‘Atlas,’ slated for release on November 15 via Capitane Records.

SOLAK has just released the third and final single leading up to his new album, ‘Stranger Things.’ The title track is the oldest piece on the album, capturing a longing for more and the push to embrace uniqueness in the face of it. It delves into the irony of offering solid advice to others yet struggling to follow it yourself, creating a relatable reflection on the challenge of self-acceptance and growth.

“Musically, I wanted it to be light and playful, full of paradoxes, just as the lyrics suggest,” Lukas recalls. “That’s why the instrumental part, with a Latin flair, can feel like a bit of a kitschy puzzle to me. I’ve always wanted to include a two-part guitar solo, which has to be present whenever the song is played live. It feels very ’80s, and I love combining that aesthetic with a sound that feels more obvious to my ear, like warm, saturated percussion… The production and recording process for this song was a lot of fun!”

With ‘Atlas,’ Lukas Somers sets out to capture emotions beyond words, creating music that resonates on a deeply personal level. Stepping away from his role as a session musician and producer, he draws on raw personal experiences to craft melodies that invite universal connection. Recorded at Norway’s Ocean Sound studio with engineer Steven Van Gelder, ‘Atlas’ balances light and dark, with a rich synergy among the band members. Known for letting his music speak for itself, Somers seeks not commercial success but rather introspective solace, echoing the spirit of artists like Feist and Elliott Smith.
