‘Untitled Cowboy’ by SOLAK | New Album, ‘Atlas’
Exclusive video premiere of ‘Untitled Cowboy’ by SOLAK, taken from his upcoming album ‘Atlas,’ out November 15 via Capitane Records.
The first glimpse of ‘Atlas’ is the single ‘Untitled Cowboy,’ inspired by a personal dream and brought to life by soul-stirring acoustic guitar. More than a song, it’s a journey, accompanied by an evocative music video.
Lukas Somers’ debut, ‘Green,’ started as a humble demo. Wanting to prove his solo capabilities, he created introspective, melodic music. On ‘Atlas,’ recorded at Norway’s Ocean Sound Recording Studios, Lukas continued this journey with technician Steven van Gelder. The darker tracks on ‘Atlas’ are more profound, though they retain a hidden beauty. The lighter songs, performed more grandly, reveal the evolution of SOLAK into a full band. “I still write alone and set certain boundaries, but within those, the musicians have the freedom to add their own touch. I appreciate that when I’m playing for others,” says Lukas.
The new songs on ‘Atlas’ penetrate deeper, gripping listeners from the first note. Lukas believes music should speak for itself, without excessive explanation. “I don’t want to over-explain the songs,” he says. “Listeners will interpret the atmosphere in their own way.”
Lukas values authenticity, drawing inspiration from artists like Feist, Jack Johnson, and Elliott Smith. He aims for his music to help listeners find peace and reassurance. ‘Atlas’ promises to offer just that, ensuring that all will be well for both SOLAK and its listeners.
