Quinny Debuts with ‘Outer Monologue’
Scottish-born, Melbourne-based artist Quinny is ready to capture hearts with his recently released debut album, ‘Outer Monologue.’
Drawing inspiration from his four “influential B’s” — Biffy Clyro, Blink-182, The Beatles, and Bombay Bicycle Club — Quinny has crafted a unique style that blends indie rock and alternative pop. After relocating to Melbourne in early 2020, the city’s vibrant energy has ignited Quinny’s creative spirit, culminating in this debut album.
‘Outer Monologue’ is produced in collaboration with notable names like Robin Evans and Melbourne musician Rowena Wise, featuring prominent collaborators such as Marie Collins, Graham McCusker, and Kieran Logan.
Across its 11 tracks, ‘Outer Monologue’ showcases Quinny’s knack for crafting intricate, catchy guitar riffs alongside lyricism that balances sincerity with a satirical edge. From the vibrant, The Cure-esque soundscape of ‘Raining Monarchs’ to the fuzzy synths and biting social commentary of ‘Up the Dollar,’ and the thoughtful melancholy of ‘Darkness at the Door,’ the album spans a broad emotional range.
