Charlie Risso Releases ‘By The Lake’ | New Album, ‘Alive’
Today, Charlie Risso is revealing the music video for ‘By The Lake,’ the fourth single off her latest album ‘Alive,’ which just hit the shelves through the German label T3 Records in CD, LP, and digital formats.
The music video sets a nostalgic tone, channeling the vibe of the 1980s with a filter reminiscent of the iconic atmosphere of “Twin Peaks.” It’s not just a visual treat; it’s a peek behind the curtain into the making of the record itself. Shot at the esteemed Puccini Floating Music Academy (PFMA), the video captures special moments with the talented artists who contributed to the album’s creation, including Hugo Race, Roberto Dell’Era, violinist HER, and record producer Nicola Baronti.
The decision to employ an 80s visual filter isn’t random; it’s a deliberate choice to transport viewers back to a time of vibrant artistic expression, echoing the aesthetic of “Twin Peaks,” renowned for its blend of mystery and surrealism. This homage not only nods to a legendary era but also underscores the emotional depth and artistic complexity of both the song and the album.
Charlie Risso, a singer-songwriter hailing from Genoa and nurtured musically between Milan and London, brings a cosmopolitan flair and a hauntingly beautiful sound. With a perfect command of both English and Italian, her music transcends geographical boundaries, offering a truly international appeal.
Following the success of her EP ‘The Light’ in November 2022, she followed up with ‘Alive,’ a collection of ten heartfelt ballads spanning folk, soul, blues, and singer-songwriter genres, all infused with the influence of David Lynch. Each track is a poignant exploration of the myriad emotions that define the human experience, crafting an immersive journey into the soul-stirring realm of Charlie Risso’s music.
