‘Peace Train’ by Kitty Solaris | New Album, ‘James Bond’

Kitty Solaris, the indie singer/songwriter from Berlin, has dropped her new single ‘Peace Train,’ the latest preview from her forthcoming album ‘James Bond,’ set to release on July 19, 2024, through her own label, Solaris Empire.

Drawing inspiration from iconic acts like Sonic Youth, The Cure, The Velvet Underground, and Cat Power, Solaris has honed her unique sound in the heart of Berlin, crafting music with a raw electric guitar and melancholic melodies. Her lyrics are always straight to the point, creating catchy hooks that resonate with listeners.

The new single ‘Peace Train,’ available on all streaming platforms from May 10, 2024, fuses the rhythms of ’80s wave bands with the soulful vibes of the hippie era. The title is a nod to Cat Stevens, but the track has a distinctly New Order-esque feel. With lyrics that challenge listeners to empathize with others—”Walk in the shoes of your enemies, what would you do – what would you say”—’Peace Train’ echoes the spirit of Woodstock, John Lennon, and Yoko Ono.

The accompanying music video, edited by Jonathan Mayer, features a blend of archival footage from the Prelinger archives and contemporary scenes shot across Berlin’s streets and gardens. The video also showcases Villa Kuriosum, a vibrant art space in Lichtenberg known for hosting alternative music and culture events.
