Exclusive video premiere of ‘Ground Score’ by Græns, a project featuring Axel Sjöberg, the original drummer of Graveyard.

Græns strives to discover the space that lies between either/or, aiming to embody elements of both while being distinct from either. Motivated by a lack of impulse control and an insatiable urge to explore, their music flows in whichever direction feels right in the moment. On their debut album, this resulted in a diverse array of sounds, blending artistic experimentation with a sincere, serious tone reminiscent of Lou Reed’s work.

However, with their latest release, ‘Ground Score & Automagi,’ Græns has taken a more defined path towards danceable rhythms, incorporating delays and echoes reminiscent of the original Upsetter sound. While still retaining influences from the Middle East and featuring the wild saxophone from their debut, this album introduces the hypeman Galaxel, a trimmigrant and instigator armed with a vocoder and autotune, adding a new layer of energy and excitement to their music.

Backed by a diverse group of musicians from Gothenburg’s Kungstens cultural and industrial area, Græns proudly collaborates with Fauna to bring listeners two tracks designed to make them dance the night away.

The cover art is crafted by Callum Rooney, while the background visuals are created by Lance Gordon. The music is, of course, by Græns, with video editing done by Tobias Söderman.

Vinyl release date for ‘Ground Score & Automagi’ is set for May 31st.

Fauna, the Gothenburg-based music collective, has made a commitment to sustainability with their record label, utilizing organic materials for their vinyl production. By pressing their vinyl with organic hemp labels and utilizing waste vinyl pressings, they aim to minimize their environmental impact and avoid contributing to plastic waste. The record covers are screenprinted on organic hemp sleeves and manually numbered, supporting local production and environmental responsibility.

Following their successful collaboration with Gothenburg legends Fontän for FAU001, Fauna now presents their second release, FAU002, featuring Græns, one of Gothenburg’s most intriguing acts, on an organic and handcrafted 7-inch vinyl.
