‘sit and wait’ by Tadgh Billy King

Exclusive track premiere of ‘sit and wait’ by Dublin-based post punk rocker Tadgh Billy King.

Tadgh Billy King’s new post-punk single ‘sit and wait’ is a refreshingly honest take on the hypocrisies we face in modern society. With a modern twist, Tadgh (pronounced like “Tiger” without the “er”) delivers a blistering, blunt, and rousing ride through noisy hardcore, math-y punk, and gazy walls of sound. ‘sit and wait’ is an anthem for awareness, and realization and is sure to resonate with fans of post-punk, punk rock, and alt-rock. With its immersive artistry, the song is a testament to the power of introspection, personal growth, and artistic evolution.

“This song is trying to make sense of the many hypocrisies we face in today’s world. It’s a song of frustration, but I hope one person can use it as an anthem for awareness, realization, and change, however big or small,” shares Tadgh.

The Dublin post-punk alt-rocker wants to try and get through to a society too fixated on cell phones, pop culture, and money to care about humanity. Tadgh didn’t set out to re-create the sound of frustrated punk rock, instead he’s unapologetically adding to the conversation through a modern lens with this new release.

The song is a testament to Tadgh’s immersive artistry, inspired by artists such as Bauhaus, Fugazi, Nirvana, and Radiohead, as well as contemporary Irish bands like Fontaines D.C. and The Murder Capital.

He’s an actor, writer, director, a composer for theatre, and an award-winning classical singer. Previously, Tadgh played in the critically-acclaimed Dublin classic rock power-trio, The Last Boys. He has recently sung on the title track of Vicky, a film about Vicky Phelan that won best Irish documentary at the Irish Films Critics Circle Awards.
