‘Scavenger’ by CCQUEEN | Album Premiere
Exclusive album premiere of ‘Scavenger’ by Bordeaux based CCQUEEN, out October 15th.
The band’s sound is both heavy and airy, strong and emotional, taking influences from from David Bowie, Nick Cave, Pink Floyd, Iggy Pop but also from recent bands like Archive, All Them Witches or King Buffalo and the poetry of the French Alain Bashung or Serge Gainbourg.
CCQUEEN is a full artistic microcosm. It is a collective work between music and graphics with psychedelic and psycho-magical designs. The band is constructing a whole singular universe by melting music and pictures even on stage during gigs.
The four members of the musical band itself are: Sonakid (voice, guitar, keyboards), Skinny Bob (guitars and backing vocals), M-Ti (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Puce (drums and percussions).
The animated designs are produced by Daygor with the artistic singular sparkling of Sonakid.

‘Scavenger’ will be released on October 15th. and it’s a 10 + 1 track album that hides a few strong artistic concepts, lifting the album closer to Bowie’s vision of music. The title “Scavenger” is divided into 2 different parts.
The ‘Scavenger part 1’ describes different portraits of toxic people with hidden aspects. The sound is trippy, acid and low on infra-basses and organized through a wonderful exploding chaos.
The ‘Scavenger part 2’ is a voice and piano song accompanied by the caressing cello of Amelie Forestier. The protagonist is giving the listener a warning: the scavenger – a toxic person – is already there, “gliding so high you won’t feel him near” … “about to drill in the weakness of your heart”.
Throughout the album, two songs are in French, ‘Litanies’ and ‘Zaroff’ (as in The Most Dangerous Game, 1924 novel by Richard Connell), the rest is sung in English.
As an example of the psycho-emotional work of the band, the song ‘Anarchy One’ proposes an introspective reflection on the lack of confidence on our free willing in our day-to-day lives, “Let’s free ourselves form mental slavery – This social pegging is getting out of control”.
The French band CCQUEEN is a psycho-active journey by itself.
