‘Cemento 3D’ by Niton | A re-imagined and 3D remixed version of ‘Cemento’

Experimental electronic trio Niton releases ‘Cemento 3D’, a re-imagined and 3D remixed version of ‘Cemento’, their latest album from 2021, out via Pulver und Asche.

This Swiss/Italian project formed in 2012 and is celebrating their 10 year anniversary with ‘Cemento 3D’ which is available digitally with a physical edition of the track ‘Maas’; a beautiful conceptual flexi-disc created by designer Alfio Mazzei. You should experience it in the following video.

To fully enjoy the stereoscopic image, it is required to watch the video with goggles with complementary colour filters (red filter on the left and cyan filter on the right). To fully enjoy the audio spatialisation, it is necessary to listen through headphones.

For the single ‘Maas’, designer Alfio Mazzei decided to invert one of the fundamental assumptions of music publishing: the content is in fact not in the
container but it is the container, inside which there is only a suggestion of the idea of a disc.

‘Maas’ is in fact printed on a transparent flexi-disc that – with plastic welding – becomes packaging, while the cardboard disc placed inside has grooves that do not produce music.

Niton offers a remarkable experience and this special edition is not to be missed, especially if you’re interested in conceptual art.
