‘Darkhorse’ by No Frills | New Album, ‘Downward Dog’
Exclusive track premiere of ‘Darkhorse’ by Toronto bummer pop outfit No Frills.
It’s the second single off the album that we are premiering. ‘Downward Dog’ will be released April 1, 2022.
‘Darkhorse’ is a sweet, lo-fi/jangle-pop tune, reminiscent of summer days, despite it’s slightly gloomier lyrical material.
Speaking on the single, songwriter Daniel Busheikin wrote: “‘Darkhorse’ was written after I was fired from a café of the same name (oops!) and is about the carrot dangling in front of our collective faces, promising an ultimate material reward that will always elude us. Basically a more pretentious version of ‘work sucks // I know.'”
