‘INFJ’ by Junk Drawer | “Psych post-punk krautrock-worshipping indie rock”

Exclusive live version of ‘INFJ’ by Belfast based experimentalists Junk Drawer. The track was originally released on ‘Ready For The House’.

From Belfast in Northern Ireland, Junk Drawer are four multi-instrumentalists playing a form of experimental indie rock that draws from psychedelia, krautrock, art rock, post-punk & the avant-garde. They released their debut album, ‘Ready For The House’, in 2020 through Art For Blind Records.

Today, they’ve shared a video for one of their album tracks, ‘INFJ’. Recorded during lockdown in front of a greenscreen, they transformed their space in the Blackstaff Mill in West Belfast into an Eric-Andre-meets-70s-German-Beat-Club-Broadcast style studio set. The towering, kosmische jam was filmed & edited by filmmaker Matty Killen, and was recorded & mixed by acclaimed Belfast-based producer Niall Doran.

This is the first in a series of videos from the session to be released from the band, who embark on a short UK tour from 19th-22nd January, playing London, Brighton, Liverpool & Bristol respectively, accompanying the release of a run of singles and a new EP.

‘Ready For The House’ has just been reissued in a gorgeous blue splatter on translucent vinyl, which you can pick up on Bandcamp.
