‘Psycho Banda’ by Rue du Nord | “Experimental trance-like psych”

Exclusive track premiere of ‘Psycho Banda’ by an experimental leftfield electro/acoustic 6-piece ensemble, Rue du Nord.

‘Psycho Banda’ is the eighth release of Rue du Nord, a Lausanne-based ensemble active since the year 2000. Navigating between psychedelic rock, progressive free fanfare and trippy, repetitive electronic music, the piece extends over 30 minutes, focusing on the ensemble’s obsessive riffs and collective energy. With a hypnotic trance that slides imperceptibly between several neighboring pulses, along with psychedelic sounds and frenetic rhythms, Psycho Banda is sure to move listeners’ feet and stimulate synaptic connections.

The six-musician ensemble Rue du Nord is well-versed in the different forms of sound creation. They can also adapt to many types of projects, whether it is performance pieces or the interpretation of compositions. From street marching bands and movie scores to orchestra improvisation of rock or disco revivals, Rue du Nord puts forth creations and foster collaborations that are purposefully very diverse.

Officially released August 30th in a limited edition of 300 copies via Protofuture.
