‘Kusanagi’ by Sturle Dagsland

Exclusive video premiere of ‘Kusanagi’ by a wild Sturle Dagsland.

Today Sturle Dagsland unveils the amazing music video for his latest single ‘Kusanagi’. The animated video, directed by award-winning animator Eirik Heggen takes inspiration from folk tales, surrealist art, and magical environments to give an imaginative and compelling component to Dagsland’s wild and blistering music. ‘Kusanagi’ is the first track to be lifted from the self-titled debut album which is set for release on February 5, 2021.

Sturle Dagsland is a highly acclaimed artist from Norway. With a wild and unique performance he captivates the audience and takes the listeners on an adventurous, surreal and beautiful journey. Touring frequently at festivals all across the world, from Shanghai to New York, he creates music with a dark, ethereal and irrefutable intensity that enchants the audience and leaves no one feeling indifferent. Together with his brother Sjur they create an expressive ever-changing soundscape that can evolve from ethereal and beautiful to wild and abrasive in a matter of seconds.

Their upcoming album consists of a wide range of different instruments, percussion and electronics dominated by Sturle’s unrestrained vocals ranging from primal ferocious screams and throat-singing to otherworldly angelic pop melodies. The first taste of that comes in the form of the single ‘Kusanagi’, an intense journey through various emotional landscapes.

They have toured extensively at festivals all across the world such as SXSW, Fusion, Iceland Airwaves, Asia World Music, Sim Sao Paulo, CMW, Sled Island, Tallinn Music Week, H2O, Monkeyweek and more.

Between the busy tour schedules of the past years Sturle Dagsland has been working on recording music, which project has taken them to high mountain tops in Norway, abandoned industrial areas in Russia, legendary soviet Marine ships in Eastern-Europe, Water reservoirs in Germany, a lighthouse in the North-Sea, and singing with wolves on dogsledding tours in the outbacks of Greenland. Their first album will be released in 2021 followed by an extensive world tour.
