‘Album Name’ by Special Cases

Exclusive premiere of ‘Album Name’ by Special Cases, a project by Föllakzoid founder & musician Juan Pablo Rodríguez.

Band comment: The album is the continuation of the spirit and method found on ‘Better Days‘ (released on BYM) with songs constructed on a couple of chords on repeat basis, evincing a dismal but luminous landscape. The duo we formed back then worked as an engine, with JP (Föllakzoid, bass & vocals) and Cucho (Chicos de Nazca, drummer), delivering raw material songs which were later produced in the studio. After several live shows and a tour with Nazca, new songs came by as a result of long jams on the road and late-night rehearsals at Caffarena and Transilvania Art Studios in Santiago city center, with resident artists and friends Diego Hernández on bass and Tan Vargas, both painters by profession. The band also has the collaboration of Diego Fast and Zach (formerly from La Rabla). ‘Album Name’ works better as a proper band record, with more diverse input on the sound, moving closer to a post-punk psychedelia but still minimal and drony, with an indie-rock structure that is emotional and expressive, far from other less-expressive musical projects from its members. Recorded, mixed and mastered at BYM Records.

Released by Weisskalt today on Bandcamp.

Soon to be made available on specific streaming platforms.
