The Parties – ‘Can’t Come Down’ (2008)
Can’t Come Down is by far the best outing from the band.
… and while I can’t say that all numbers by The Parties have been created equally well, though with downloads, you can easily create a sensational disc of some of the most wonderful historic sounding jangle-pop since Tom Petty or the Smithereens … songs that are a bit smoother, a bit more refined, songs that will weave their way into your soul and ride easily in your back pocket for years to come.
*** If you decide to go with the download of this album, you’ll be treated to an extended and slightly more intoxicating version of the song “Gotta Get Out,” which is very much worth your while.
Their next album Coast Garde offered up but three intoxicating numbers for me…
